LINNAS Kanazawa has organized Artist in Residence program since 2021. and this is our 4th LAiR in May 2023.

We look for artists who wants to join the program and make an artwork in exchange of the stay for 12 nights.

【About LAiR】

Period: May 8 -24. (Check-out on 25th May) maximum for 12 nights.

Number of artists: 4-6 people

Details: During your stay at Kanazawa, please make an artwork with the theme “Hygge”, which is the main concept of LINNAS Kanazawa. LINNAS will put the artwork on the wall of our hotel room in exchange of 12 night stay.

The place to put: will be put on the wall. The size should be smaller than F6 size.

：2023年5月8日（月）〜5月24日（火）（滞在は5月25日（水）チェックアウトまで）

What we support:

• 12 nights stay in LINNAS Kanazawa ( Private room, shared bathroom)
• Group exhibition after the program in LINNAS Kanazawa

*transportation fee to Kanazawa and the materials for the artwork is not included.

The reason why we host the program LAiR.

We think LINNAS is not a hotel, but a micro complex in the town. As a micro complex, we would like to make this place a HUB between locals and people from outside of the town. We believe that art is one way to make diversities in our community.

Also as a hotel, we have a concept of “Hygge”, which is the Danish word of meaning “comfortable time / space”. We believe that for the comfortable time/space, having artwork in the room is the key for Hygge.

We would like our guests staying with us experiencing “a life with art” through the stay at LINNAS Kanazawa.

For the past 2 years, we only have artists from Japan, but from this time, we would like to welcome artists from all over the world.
